After four years, the Hong Kong Museum of Art has finally reopened its doors. It’s a big deal: The updated building features an all-new airy glass façade sporting views of Victoria Harbour, as well as an outdoor Art Square and Art Corridor along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. The exhibition spaces have had a makeover too, expanding from roughly 7,000 to 10,000m² to house the museum’s vast collection of more than 15,000 pieces, spanning everything from traditional Chinese calligraphy to avant-garde installations. Topping it off, the museum has introduced a new lineup of exhibitions including “Classics Remix: The Hong Kong Viewpoint” which focuses on the history of Hong Kong art.
