Sheung Wan just got a bit edgier, thanks to the arrival of TMK (short for Temakeria). A new spot by Pirata Group, the restaurant is a rock ’n’ roll temaki (sushi hand roll) and sake bar with a custom Japanese motorcycle at the entrance, a tattoo parlour-inspired bathroom and a punk soundtrack. Just say the words “drinks on me” to treat everyone in the house to a shot of sake for HK$290. As for food, chef Takeshi Suzuki’s top pick is the Tuna Hotdog, a fun take on the American- Japanese California roll but with king crab. The roll is deep-fried in tempura batter then sliced like a hot dog bun and filled with diced spicy tuna, cucumber and crumbs, all topped with furikake. Kanpai!
