Time travel on The Peak

Hong Kong’s hottest tourist spot, The Peak Galleria, is sporting a completely new look after its recent renovation and the arrival of upscale new restaurants to balance outthe fast-food chains. Among the new faces is Rajasthan Rifles, another opening from the prolific Black Sheep Restaurants group. This roomy tavern recreates the convivial atmosphere of a British Indian Army mess hall in the 1920s, when such spaces first became open to Indian officers and cuisines from the two countries began to mingle. Though the décor and uniforms are a bit over the top, chef Palash Mitra (also behind Michelin-starred New Punjab Club) serves up undeniably delicious comfort food and fusion dishes. Don’t miss the club sandwich filled with chicken tikka chaat, masala omelette, tomato chutney and English cheddar.
