Tucked away down a dimly lit passage on the mezzanine floor of Landmark Prince’s Building in Central, Kakure gives credence to its name, which loosely translates to “present in form but absent from sight”. Designed to evoke Tokyo’s moody alleyways, the establishment does Ginza-style (read: all-premium, traditional techniques) teppanyaki, sushi and omakase with interesting twists. Another highlight is the hidden bar with over 120 rare whiskies, sakes and signature cocktails – best enjoyed in its tatami room for one of the most authentic Japanese experiences in Hong Kong.
