At the check-in counters, students found out more about baggage handling, check-in procedures and special passenger handling. They also learnt about how Hong Kong Airlines goes the extra mile in customer service through Above and Beyond, the programme that provides personal care for passengers who require professional medical support or special assistance, in addition to delighting passengers through special birthday treats and more.

Captain Tat Ng and Martin Ng took students on a tour of the A330 aircraft and cockpit, where they learnt about the finer points of airline operations, from cabin crew pre-flight briefings and life jacket demonstration to Business and Economy Class seat operations, galley operations and more.

Hong Kong Airlines Junior Programme is the airline’s signature student engagement activity, and all primary and secondary schools as well as youth education and aviation-related organisations are welcome to apply. The airline is proud to have brought this unique experience to around 500 local students to date, and is heartened by the overwhelming response from schools. The programme aims to equip the next generation with first-hand knowledge to cultivate their interest in aviation.
