Hongkongers have long bemoaned the city’s dearth of authentic, regional Mexican food. And so in June, Black Sheep Restaurants (behind hotspots Chom Chom, Belon, Ho Lee Fook and others) opened Taqueria Super Macho, a turquoise-splashed restaurant on Bridges Street inspired by the friendly, fuss-free taquerias lining the streets of Baja and Jalisco. The seafood-centred menu focuses on tacos, ceviche and small plates, which diners can dress up with salsas, jalapeños and limes served from small ramekins. Don’t forget to wash it all down with a Corona-rita, a cocktail made from Mexico’s most famous lager.
