Hong Kong may not be awash in ride-hailing options compared to other major cities, but the launch of the eTaxi app by the Hong Kong Taxi Council is proof that its cab industry is finally evolving. eTaxi works much like most other ride-hailing apps – input your pick-up point and destination, and the app matches you with a nearby driver. You can rate your driver, report forgotten items and pay with your Octopus card or the Octopus O! ePay app. Hopefully, a credit card option will soon be made available, too.
