Even in a city with as varied a bar scene as Los Angeles, Highland Park Bowl is pretty unique. The bowling alley, established in 1927 during the Prohibition era, was bought by nightlife specialist 1933 Group a few years ago. Keeping most of the original façade and interior, they refurbished the lanes and repurposed original items like sawed-off pins as decorative pieces. The throwback vibe is attraction enough, but the menu takes it further with delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas and craft beers. highlandparkbowl.com
